Beverley Vs Birkenhead 2010

Dave Worrall

After yet another postponed game last Saturday, Beverley RUFC hope to return to action this weekend with a home fixture against Birkenhead Park (kick off  3 p.m.).

Lying 5th in the league table, BHP are invariably a difficult side to beat and the Beavers will need to be at their best to gain any reward on Saturday. The one benefit of the layoff is that most of the niggling injuries that they have been affected by seem to be clearing up and they should have nearly a full squad to select from.

Player/Coach James McKay, himself recently sidelined through injury, said today, “The number of postponed matches that we have suffered has disrupted our season, but it is the same for everybody and, at least we should be playing the rearranged fixtures on better, dryer pitches which will suit our game better.”
